Iraq. Iran. Syria, ....Lots of big talk with US troops dropping like flies in Iraq// Getting REALLY tired of all of these US-led war games.

Washington Post Staff Writer

The Bush administration delivered a secret message to North Korea yesterday warning it to back down from a promised nuclear test, and it said publicly that the United States would not live with a nuclear-armed Pyongyang government.

North Korea "can have a future or it can have these weapons. It cannot have both," Assistant Secretary of State Christopher R. Hill said yesterday. It was the toughest response yet from the Bush administration, coming two days after Pyongyang announced plans to conduct its first nuclear test.

Hill did not explain how the administration would respond to a test, but he said it is willing to sit with North Korean officials and diplomats from the region to discuss the crisis. "We will do all we can to dissuade [North Korea] from this test," he said

Why don't I join? You want me to join? Why? to protect people like you? who begrudge others because they do not believe as you do? Whether I like the govt or not is of no import. The govt is the govt. And stop inviting others who may not agree with you regarding certain issues to "move;" who do you think you are anyway? This isn't YOUR country. It's stolen country which never has and never will belong to the USA. Got that? SO why not move back to where YOU came from you silly.; Learn some history! And stop answering questions by equivocating.

Nothing will be done about N. Korea, Iran, or any country, and they all know it. Moreover, by leaving terrorists more in control in Afghanistan and creating terrorists in Iraq, where there were none, Bush has made the US losers in the eyes of the world.

Now, people do not even respect our military power. Look at how Israel bit off more than it could chew in Lebanon. When people believe they can defeat you, it makes them a more difficult and dangerous enemy.

Besides, Korea is China’s problem. If NK launches a missile in aggression anywhere, China will uncork on them in an instant. Similarly, we cannot mess around militarily in the region because we do not want any piece of China.

Everyone knows this, and all it proves is that the Bush Administration is not in touch with reality.

I don't see the connection between your statement, and the quote by the Washington Post staff writer. The situation regarding N. Korea is anything but a game. The problem with N Korea's nuclear weapons program stems from the fact that it's government is a totalitarian system with 1 man making the decisions. This man has a long lived history of insane behavior, and has shown time and again that his priority is retaining his own power. The conditions of the population in N.Korea is deplorable, and is the result of all types of resources being hoarded for the military/government. With civilians starving, strife to survive daily, etc. They see that the only guaranteed way to live is to participate in the military. (if they're accepted) Those in the military KNOW they and their families will die if they don't capitulate this ruler. That climate, plus historical precedent means that if N. Korea gains nuclear weapons. It's very likely that Kim Jong Il will USE them. The prosperity of S. Korea is pointed to as "We want it, they have it" by Kim Jong Il.

Although unfortunate, the military casualties to US Forces in Afghanistan and Iraq are not militarily significant. Despite politically biased news broadcasts that say otherwise, the US Army and Marine corps are no where near the breaking point. As a commander, I want an all volunteer force, and believe it or not, there are plenty of jobs for guys and gals who are older than 36 in the military. Not all jobs entail carrying a 75 pound rucksack on your back. There are plenty of budgeting, contract control, force modernization, and administrative jobs that a 60 year old could do. Even though news broadcasts might mislead you otherwise, we would have little problem demonstrating a firm response to North Korea if that is what our government required of us. I do not want to live in fear of a nuclear North Korea that had nothing to lose.

And if it wasn't for the older personal there with their knowledge, there would be alot more deaths. The majority of deaths come from unexperienced young people, who were sent there with little or no experience. Why don't you join? If you don't like our government and the way things are run here, move there, I'm sure you wouldn't last long or get any sleep for all the bombs

What do you mean by "dropping like flies"? Many, many more people are dying in the US everyday from violence than they are in Iraq and Afghanistan combined.
