Don't do it.
It is common and prevalent because over the past few decades morals have devolved where anything goes and is accepted. And we have been taught you can do anything you want through TV and movies.
We have reached the point in history that the scripture telling us about those that would call that which is evil good, and what is good is evil, has arrived. Tell someone that this is immoral and society will come down on your head for it.

Yes, sex before marriage is forbidden in Christianity. So many teenagers between the ages of 15 and 19 are getting pregnant because (1) parents are both working and no one is home watching the kids (2) or no one taught the kids NOT to have sex before marriage.

Sex is to be for married people only. Man to woman and not man to man, woman to woman stuff. Adultery is Sin as noted in the ten commandments. To have pre or extra marital sex is adultery. What good comes from it? Better family life?..No Better health?...No. More self respect?...No. Yeah, sex feels good, no doubt about it. But there are right and wrong ways of doing things. Sex outside of marriage is the wrong way. Driving a car is a good and necessary thing. But is it a good thing for a 10 year old to be behind the wheel? I don't want to be in the car with him/her! I guess sex before marriage seems to be the cool "in" thing to do. I'm afraid those that practice this are letting outside culture and their sex drive control their lives.

yes it is forbidden.. everyone claims there living there life for god, but how can you truly live you life for god when you are having sex before marriage and he is a god who believes in sex after marriage.. and about the teenagers, they are told by the media that sex is good, in every other song these days you dont hear lyrics like "im going to saveee my virginity till im married" and most of the time some of them do want to save it but they think if they want to be "cool" they have to lose it and sleep with as many people as possible.. and then they act surprised when they have STD's and are pregnant.. its a damn shame whats going on in the world today because this mentality ain't just in the USA. but i hope they all see the light and god captures they're souls before its too late :)

The question you've asked is too difficult to answer here.
Christianity has their say in what should be a healthy sex life....but they do not consider humans living their lives in the greater context. Sex education should be much more prevalent in our society. (if people knew the horrific part about STD's...the education alone, would slow down the teenage libido). Unfortunately...there is too much of a taboo on the entire sexual experience. Many lives could be saved if our youth were more fully educated.

Christianity is against premarital sex. Those teenagers and unmarried sexualy partners are not necessary practising Christians.
Some people claim to be devout Christians but think it is okay to have sex out of welock.
In the end I believe all people stick to what is most convenient for them no matter what religion hey claim to be a part of.

I am 21 and still a virgin. I am a virgin not necessarily because of what the Bible says, I also have my own reasons for my choice to remain pure.
