It depends on which 1 is the better fighter. I know this sounds like a copout, but is the only true answer. Many martial arts masters only know their style, while some are versed n many styles. Also masters vary in size, strength, age etc. Anyone who tries to generalize is just talking through his hat.

A true Muay Thai master are from Thailand. Those guys have it really rough!

Those guy aren't someone you can hurt, outsmart, or tired easily. Many of them were dropped off at camp when they were 4 to 6 years old. They basically spend most of their life training and fighting. If you think they train two hours and do 10 push up and 20 sit ups then go home. You're totally wrong. They get up to run 5 or more miles, do many rounds of pad works and bagwork then take nap then wake up to run again then some more bag and pads work, clinch work, and maybe some light sparring. They also fight every 2 or 3 weeks, so think about this, many retired Muay Thai fighters have over 200 fights.

So my moneys would be on Muay Thai master due to their experience and work out routine. Also if you haven't feel Muay Thai kick, go to local Muay Thai gym and ask to hold pads. Even with thick 10 lbs pads on your forearms, you will still get a bruises.

It depends on how they train.

HOWEVER: Based on the "law of averages" the average Aikido school is total bs because they teach techniques with fully compliant or partially compliant or "slowed" opponents in pre-set drills. The average Muai Thai school teaches and incorporates full contact sparring and non-compliant training and drills into thier curriculum (heavily).

Given the odds are that a Muai Thai fighter is 99.9/10 going to have more legit resistance training, and the aikido guy will not- The aikido guy is most likely going to get his *** handed to him and recieve a whuppin like he is a red-headed step child.

However I'm sure some where, some place there is an aikido practitioner or school that does train with the kind of realistic resistance training and non-compliant opponents that would then make the fight come down to the relative skill level of the practitioners.

That depends on the person and how much they knew about the others fighting technique and weaknesses. If one is more knowledgable about the other's fighting technique, and has enough stamina, he/she will win. Like if a Akido master knew all or most of a weaknesses of Muay Thai, or vice-versa.

If niether has this info about the others technique, then it depends on who has the most endurance, strength, speed, and power. It also depends on their surrounding during battle. It might all just depend on luck.

Nether one of them is beating an all-around fighting master who knows all of the most effective fighting styles, ro at least they's have a very difficult time.

Some times it's not even about skill and experience, one might win because they were simply more intelligence on the logic of fighting overall.

Sure, it all depends on the fighters though. I've seen a Tae Kwon Do Master beat a Muay Thai Master before, but the Tae Kwon Do fighter was very aggressive. It doesn't depend on style, but skill and experience.

A practical answer is not possible. A fight depends on the person. MT is a very practical Martial Arts and Aikido more a theoretical practise of movements. You wan to compare a soccer player with a volleyball player. It is only possible if we have one rule ; total KO. Than my dear friend due to the targeting of the training of a MT fighter (and I am refering to a good one and not "made in USA one") the MT master will win.

If they are equal size and equal amount of experience, the muay thai fighter. You ever see an aikido practitioner in the UFC? If the aikido master weighs 250 lbs and is pure muscle and the muay thai guy is 115 lbs, the aikido master.

i am a thai boxer and 3 time world champion and i say that a thai fighter would win. However there is always someone better out there and this could be the guy.
When it comes to skills thai, when it comes to 50-50 the answer is yin yang

I do not think two masters would fight in the street.
But if they did it would not depend on the style, they are both masters, this fight would be decided by the men themselves.
It would be a matter of will, intelligence, strategy and experience.

If I had to bet I'd put my money on the Muay Thai guy every time.
