selfishness...not considering the other person's feeling or needs

The one thing that makes relationships work is when both people value the other and need them in their lives. What really happens in most break ups is that for whatever reason the person you are with no longer seems important in terms of the way you run your daily life. They begin to seem more in the way, where at one point you changed or moved things around to accommodate someones presence in your life, they now seem to be a nuisance. People call this growing apart, but really it is just discovering that obviously this is not the person for you. This is of course based upon the general and gradual breakdown of a relationship... it is another thing entirely if someone does something that ends the relationship abruptly, like cheating on you for instance.

Most relationships turn bad when you start asking questions about the past. That starts a lot of arguments. The past is the past, its not now. The only thing that matters now is you and the person that you are with.

Lack of comunication and not sharing your feelings with each other- ie: if the wife works 9 hours a day and has been for over 1 year while the husband works maybe one day at a new job and the wife is expected to pay all bills-get money when he bounces a check= take care of all house work and kids- harboring resentments.

Expectations. People expect their partner to be, act, react a certain way and when they don't it causes problems. Expectations can be as small as not tidying up after yourself or as large as having an affair but no matter what the relationship problem is, you can usually say that one persons expectations were not met. People expect their partner to be something they are not or to behave in a way that is not natural to them so it's upsetting when this happens. I think every relationship issue can be related to an expectation.

One partner is not happy. One may be unfaithful either by cheating or just not acting as a partner anymore.
