Duration means how long something will last. so if it last 2 hours 30 minutes then that is how long you will be there. Now because it says INCLUDING 30 minute intermission that means that the intermission time is inculded in the duration time (2hours 30 minutes).

Say it starts promptly at 7:00pm. It will end promptly at 9:30pm. In the time you are at the event, there will be 30 minutes set aside as intermission to go use the restroom, go outside and smoke a cigarette, and hit the concession stand to refill your beer/drink and grab a snack cause these things are always so tedious and that makes a person very hungry. Have fun.

The word include means to put in a total. The total time
spent there will be 2 and a half hours.

I think that means that the 30 minutes are included in the 2.5. That is a good question, though. You have successfully stumped the chump!
