What does he know that we should know?

"A spokesman for Mexican President Vincente Fox on Wednesday said the United States will likely never build 700 miles of new fencing along the border dividing the two nations.

The fence received final approval in the United States last week.

But Fox's spokesman Ruben Aguilar said the U.S. Congress is unlikely to approve enough funding to finish the project.

"There is no money to build it, so it won't be built," Aguilar told reporters. "Even though the wall was approved, there is no funding."

No one knows how much the 700-mile (1,125-kilometer) fence will cost, but Congress sent a bill to the White House making a $1.2 billion down payment. A 14-mile (23-kilometer) segment of fence under construction in San Diego is costing $126.5 million."

What do you think?

The cost of the fence is a drop in the bucket compared to what illegal immigrants cost the USA right now! There is NO WAY they can come back later and say there is no money to pay for the fence. Like someone else here said, I am sure that if it comes down to it, enough American citizens would volunteer their labor to build the fence and so the only cost would be the materials and the continuing maintenance and monitoring of it, which would STILL be only a drop in the bucket compared to the cost of illegal immigrants!

Maybe he does know something we don't.....These politicians are all in bed together, and ultimately they all want an open border policy.....We really don't know what sort of back door agreements they have made with each other....The Mexican elections were rigged, because the liberal candidate, López Obrador really had a very nationalist agenda for the country, he was the former mayor of Mexico City, he should have been elected, I believe he won....My mother in law, who lived in Mexico City, told me, for the first time since she can ever remember, Mr. López Obrador, actually cut taxes and helped the lower and middle classes.....He was very popular and well liked, with the common people.....I hate to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but I really do believe our govt. along with Mexico and Canada, have a very insidious plan to open all borders and take away our sovereignty....Don't be too disappointed if they can't find the 'funds' after the election to build the fence....

I think the President and this government should call for volunteers to help build that 700 mile fence and the rest needed to complete it. I'll bet the turnout would cut the cost in half. I also believe every American born citizen who passes a criminal back ground check and passes a simple training course should be allowed to make citizen arrest anytime they catch an illegal in my country. That will help the countries police budget too.

we don't even need to build a fence. A couple automated machine guns along the border, and people will start coming here legally.

A fence is not enough. We need land mines.
