Is there a way I can find out why he was arrested? I just found out from a friend of mine, but he's not sure why he was arrested. I can't in touch with my friend, so how do I find out what his offense was? Is there a way to look it up? And out on bail means someone paid money to get him out temporarily until his court date?

Yes, exactley. Look up state or local police agencies for online prisoner information. They are available just do a search by county, city or state. Good luck !

He may or may not have a court date set. Most likely he does. If he was arrested, he knows why unless he's mentally challanged. Of course, that does not mean those are the charges for which he will be tried. There are several ways to find out what he is charged with and when, as well as if, there is a court date. One of the best is to contact the Clerk of the Court...at least that's what its called in my state. Call the district attorney's office, they may tell you what he was charged with, or at least tell you how to find out what the charge is. Another place to contact is the municipal court if the charge is something like unpaid traffic fines or other municpal violation. If you can find him or someone who knows him, maybe you can find out how much his bail is. If its over $5000, it may be a serious misdemeanor or even a felony. Think back also about any other arrests he's had that you know about. It may be a similar charge.

Ok , believe it or not that is a tricky question. When you get arrested you have various court dates that normally start with your "Initial Appearance" while still in the jail. If you were on a No Bond status the judge will normally give you a bond at that time. But If you sit in jail for a while and are awaiting your court date and all of a sudden your bonded your court date will be set back to a later date. You can call your local county or city jail and give them the name and they'll give you all the info you need, It's considered public record.

Yes, being out on bail or bailbond means someone one put up money to assure that he shows up in court to face the charges. If he is not a juvenile, you should be able to get a copy of his arrest report from the Police Department that arrested him. There may be a charge for this service.

Your friend got out because someone posted his bail. And he will definately have to go to court. Im not too sure how you would be able to find out about his reasons for being arrested unless you call the prosecutor's office and ask what his offense was. But its unlikely they would give you any information. It take some time to get paperwork from one place to another for processing. Therefore, you would have to wait untill you reach your friend to find out what happened.

Out on bail means that somebody paid an amount of money for him to guarantee his return to the court, he have a court, and he have to show at the court date, unless the plaintiff dismissed the case, you can call the attorney general for your district area and ask about his arrest cause.

Your friend needs to get a lawyer, becasue he certainly has a court-date, and is probably not allowed to leave town. You always have the right to know what you're being arrested for. It's a constitutional requirement in th eUS along with the Miranda reading.

"Out on bail" Is pending a court date. This does not necessarily mean someone paid for his/her bail.
As for finding out the offenses, only your friend that was arrested can find this out.
