i kindly request you to see my question regarding an advice which i got from you. Please read "Please i need an expert's advice" under my questions.
there are two place where the dogs have bitten him badly which was about one inches deep. one near under the right side back leg and one at the top of the abdomen. i am applying the cream regularly and its about to cure. now the problem is my cat's backside right leg has bulged and he is not able to walk properly. i suppose it should be the bad pus or the unnecessary liquid which has made his leg bulged. what kind of home remedy should i give before taking it to the vet. one more thing is that the other wound on the top of the abdomen near the stomach is curing now. earlier it was bulged. i dipped a cloth in hot water and gently pressed on the wound. every time i do that , after some time i could see the bad liquid coming out of the wound. what i did is right or wrong? i did that for the other wound but in vain.please help

It sounds like the cat has seen a vet already, that's good. I would call said vet and update him/her on the animal's condition though. The bulge is the puss/infection trying to work it's way out of the wound/s. Applying the warm cloth was a good thing and any vet would tell you the same--it drew some of the puss out which is what's needed. The possable explanation for the warm cloth not working on the second wound could be that the animal's skin has already reconstructed around the puss (err go no place for the heat to draw it out from). If that's the case, it could be bad news for your cat, especially if a fever develops. If the animal becomes lathargic or non-responsive, please take it to the vet immediately, because that could be signs of much worse problems. Depending upon the body part the wound is on, opening it ever-so-slightly to help releave the pressure from the puss would be ok. But, this will cause your cat pain, and if done to deep could injure it more than it is--SO PLEASE BE WARY OF DOING THIS! have you applied peroxide to the wound to help bubble the infection out? Using a cotton ball or Q-tip would be best for a cat as most of them hate liquid on their bodies. Regular triple-antibiotic ointment does work on animals as well--in most minor skin abrasions, but the infected area must be cleaned properly for it to work at it's best.

I hope this has helped you, and a truly hope your cat heals swiftly and fully!

I had a similar incident with my cat. I took her in and the vet was very concerned and said she could have died. It cost me a lot of money! But she got well. She had another spot on her but it only swelled a bit then broke open on its own. The difference was that the first time she was sick, wouldn't walk and it wasn't clearing on its own. Be careful.

The cat needs antibiotics as soon as possible. My best recommendation is for you to get it to a vet before the infection spreads throughout the body and dies of gangrene.

It sounds like you have done some helpful things for your cat. Those kind of abcesses usually require medication, so I hope you take your cat to the vet and let him/her decide what needs to be done next.

IF THE CAT AND DOG DON'T GET ALONG WITH EACH OTHER YOU SHOULD DECIDE WHICH ONE YOU WANT.I HATE TO BE THE ONE TO TELL YOU THIS BUT IF THERE NOT RAISED TOGETHER THEY MAY NOT GET ALONG WITH EACH OTHER. I THINK YOU SHOULD RELAY TAKE THE CAT TO A VET.NORMALLY IF YOU TREAT THE WOUND AND IT DOES NOT HEAL OR SHOW REDNESS WITH A FEW DAYS ITS PROPERLY INFECTED....KEEP IN MIND CATS ARE INDEPENDENT PETS AND ARE SMARTER THAN DOGS.WERE DOGS ACQUIRE ATTAIN AND REQUIRE YOU TO TAKE CARE OF THEM.

Your cat has serious infections and without antibiotics he could die. I suggest you take him to a vet immediately.
