I'm not a doctor but you should probably have your thyroid checked. Thyroid problems can cause anxiety and physical symptoms. Severe anxiety alone can also cause very real physical symptoms, especially gastrointestinal problems, as it is a stress on the body to be in a constant state of panic.

So, consult with a physician. Tell them about your problems and that you'd like to rule out thyroid problems and perhaps even allergies, vitamine defficiencies, epilepsy, and the likes. If you check out healthy aside from an anxiety disorder then I recommend trying a strict schedual. Go to bed at the same time every night and wake up at the same time every morning. Take at least a 30 minute walk every day and get yourself involved in activities you enjoy. Also be sure to eat a balanced diet.

Sometimes, especially in people with disorders such as obsessive compulsive disorder, the brain gets stuck in panic mode and anti-depressants don't always help. If this is the case with you, you might want to discuss alternative short term medications with your psychiatrists. Believe it or not, haloperidol, which is typically used for psychosis, can be used to treat this type of anxiety.

I would immediately go see a psychiatrist and not the psychiatrist that you just saw. Most likely the psychiatrist that you will see will prescribe you another antidepressant to relieve the anxiety and depression that you are having. And the psychiatrist will also give you reasons of what happens when you stopped taking the antidepressant and why you had the various symptoms.

Some people are just that way and need help. If the pills help keep taking them.
