I'm a junior in high school in Tuttle, OK and I'm looking for a good engineering college. It doesn't matter to me if it's half way around the globe, the farther away from home, the better.

Engineering Programs are locational...that means they are all different depending on where they are located.
Engineers are fed into the industry of that area and the industry dictates what kind of engineering is taught in the school.
When you know what kind of engineer you want to be, you will have an easier time choosing.
I like Purdue. That is where I would like to go to get my masters.

In UK: first, Cambridge University; second, Oxford University; third, Imperial College (part of London University)

In USA: first, MIT; second - not sure (Harvard? Stanford? Yale? Princeton?)

Not sure which is best out of Cambridge University or MIT.

If studying engineering in UK, best to get work experience in engineering for one year before beginning degree course, and to get further such work experience during vacations. Not sure if USA is the same.

Who knows which one's the best. Especially if you didn't say what kind of engineering. MIT is good, CalTech is good, Stanford's good. Moscow FizTech is good - this is I'm sure very far away from home.
