I just when out on a "set up" date with this guy. We went out for coffee and then to play some pool and video games. When he drove me home he went the seenic way by the ocean. Then he walked me to the door and gave me a hug. We have been talking on the phone for the past few days and we seem to have a lot in common. Do you think he likes me and he just wants to take is slow or could it be that he's not attracted to me and he just wants to be friends?

Geez. That is really rough when a hug on a first date is way too little. It sounds like he does. Be happy that a guy is not wanting everything, and the kitchen sink on the first date, and then leave you and never call you back. There is nothing wrong with taking it slow.
It seems that no one kisses anyone anymore because they love them, or truly have feelings for them. It's just rather something you do. I don't get it.

Guys don't tend to like to talk on the phone much so if he is investing the time to make small talk with you he is probably interested and testing the waters to what you are feeling.
He is probably wondering the same about you, one of you are just gonna have to take the notion to Rock the boat and ask the other out again.

I don't think you can really tell on a first date. It could go either way. You should just give it a little bit more time
