Thank you, Shamus, we love and appreciate you and your answer.
It is not helpful to people feeling suicidal to be told...your problems are not that big...mine are worse...things aren't that bad..to poster above and I agree with you life has not gotten better but worse..I hear you there.
Anyway, I spent over 1 1/2 hour typing you an answer on your other question like I said I would and be sure to read it all..I believe it will help you.
I think many people at their core do care. I think many people have experienced suicidal feelings themselves and so they can relate to the pain. Even though people are often mean and selfish and unkind, when a true crisis or emergency strikes people, their compassion drives them to want to help.
Although in day to day situations, people often do not do unto others..in serious situations, they often come through as all people have some good in them..some more than others but most people can rise to the occasion and help when necessary.
It may help to think about all those people with cancer for instance like the poster above said that would do anything for one more day, one more month, one more year....life is precious and when we see it slippiing away we want it back. I remember after y years of fighting sicidal ideation, getting a mamogram and being told I mgiht have breast cancer. I had to wait 3 days to find out and those were 3 of the hardest days of my life...when death stared me in the face, I realizxed I didn't really want to die and leave my kids and my life..we don't really want to die, we want the proble=ms to go away r to lessen..sopmetimes they do and sometimes they don't..but when you are reaaly facing death, it often makes you want life.
Good luck and God bless...no more F's OK and the poster above is right, don't let them take away your life and the good you will do with it...rise above it and be brave. Use that good brain to work today to learn to perservere and love yourself...and love yourself a little more to make up for your parents...love the child within you and comfort them through self talking and treats.

Because life is far too precious to be thrown away!!!
My parents were like that. Never amount to anything never any good for anything etc, etc, etc! They were wrong and they were not worth dieing for. Your parents are wrong and they aren't worth dieing for.
I've seen pain suffering and death all over the world (up close and personal) anyone; possibly everyone of them would have liked to have been given the chance to live their respective lives. But they were robbed of them, through war, disease and famine.
There are far too many people out there willing and wanting to bring you down or take your life without you helping them!
I know of which I speak, in my childhood and my teens. Even now, I'm crippled and in a wheelchair (Army), but I'm still damn glad to be alive, to breath the air, feel rain on my face, hear the laughter of a child or soft warm lips upon mine.
Because life is far too precious to be thrown away!!!

Yes. I have taken CPR categories and such. I was once a CNA and used to be going to nursing institution, however made up our minds it wasn't for me. I stored two youngsters from choking earlier than. Never needed to do CPR but...and with a bit of luck certainly not will.....

I don't think it's that they 'want to' save another's life.
It's more of an instinct.
Just like how mothers will do anything for thier kids in the right situations.
It's instinct.
