I know how you feel... I'm not trying to lose weight, but I am trying to get back in shape, and it's hard to stay motivated and on track. Anyway, all I can say is that you need to look at things from the long-term. Basically, in a few months would you rather be stuck right were you were (assuming that you were unhappy), or would you rather be either where you want to be or at least on your way? Each day you can make a decision that you are either going to be on your way to what you want to be, or you are going to allow yourself to stay stagnant in a place where you are not content. Either way tomorrow rolls around, months come, and before you know it, it is next year. So, where do you want to be when the times comes???
Hang in there, and good for you for losing what you have, you should be really proud of yourself. Don't let that effort be in vain... carry it through to the end. The end is closer than you might thing... just keep being on your way and you will end up right where you want to be.

First of all, set a realistic weight loss goal for yourself. Don't try to be supermodel skinny, because that is not practical for 99.9% of the women in the world. Second, congratulations on the 20 lbs you have already lost. Keep up the good work, you know you can do it. Just don't expect miracles, and don't try to lose the weight too fast. Eat right, and make sure you exercise. Exercise is actually a mood booster, so make sure you don't neglect that aspect of dieting. My mother goes to Weight Watcher's meetings, and she finds the support of her peers to be very helpful. Just don't give up, because the older you get the harder it is to lose the weight.

Have you thought about hiring a personal trainer? That's what we do...we motivate people and keep them going so they reach their goals!
Congrats on losing 20 lbs- how many more are you going for?
Here are some tips to keep you motivated:
*Every single day, perhaps several times a day, visualize yourself reaching your goal. See in your mind how fabulous you will look and feel- think of how it will change your life. Keep your "eyes on the prize"!
*Write down your goals on sticky notes and stick them on places like the refrigerator. Write down your accomplishments thus far and stick them on every mirror so that when you have a "fat day" before you start to pick yourself apart, you can read those accomplishments and be reminded of how far you've come.
*Try to buddy up with someone else striving for the same goal. It's good to have support and friendship in your endeavor.
*Don't obsess over the scale. It's normal for women especially to fluctuate in their weight a few pounds. Your weight can vary for a lot of reasons: what you just ate, water levels, hormonal cycles, glycogen levels- so don't feel blue when the scale shows that you gained 1 pound in a day. Although it's important to weigh in at least once a week to check progress, focus more on how you look and how you feel. Are your clothes fitting looser? Weight is not so important anyway- your main concern should be body fat percentage. You can have your body fat percentage measured by a Personal Trainer, or you may purchase a good electronic measuring device. Women should aim to be under 25% for optimal health.
Well, I hope these ideas help! Whatever you do, don't give up! If you need help you can personally e-mail me at: sara@fitnesspros4u.com and you can read about weight loss and fitness on my blog: http://thefitness411.blogspot.com/
Take care and have a good day!

Don't give up. I have been trying to lose weight since april. I have lost 2 pounds in six months! I watch my diet and do exercise, but my metabolism is slow. Anyway I am happy because I used to weight 140 and now I weight 138. I still feel positive.

Keep yourself surrounded by people who will support you in your goals. Also, know that a plateau will come but that you will always move past that plateau if you DO NOT give up. You are not alone in your battle with the bulge. We could all use a little encouragement.
