Okay so here it goes. I like this girl i work with and was getting ready to take a trip for a week so i told her and she looked sad but wouldnt tell me why. so i told her to just give me her number and i would call her when i get back. she said ok and went back in to work and told me to come in so she could write her number down. the thing is there was a girl that is her friend that was working that night and she likes me. Ive told her that i only see her as a friend but she didnt like that. anyways so i waited for a little bit and then when the girl i just want to be friends with went in the back and while she did that the girl i like tossed me the paper with her number quickly and she looked nervous. my question is did she do this because she likes me but doesnt want her friend to know or is this just because she doesnt want her friend to know she gave me her number? please, any advice is appreciated. also the number had a smiley face drawn next to it.

I'm thinking she knows the other girl likes you and didn't want to hurt her feelings by giving you her own phone number. She would probably prefer not to mention it if you and her are not going to go anywhere relationship wise. Usually as a rule, friends come first.
If the note had a smiley face - thats a good thing :)

if she didn't like you she wouldnt risk her friendship with the other girl, or give her number, esp. with a smiley. watch out! that friend of hers may be trouble.

Yeah.. Maybe because she didnt want her friend to know because if she got turned down. Or maybe her friend likes you too!

Sounds like this girl you like knows her friend likes you already. but your asking for this girls number the one you like better. so when the coast was clear she tossed you her number quickly so her friends would'n't see it.
