I recommend as usual CTRIP:
http://english.ctrip.com/index.asp
I booked all my flights and hotels through this web side.
It's one of the biggest web sides in China. They are reliable, in general have the best rates and very fast.
As they are very flexible, you can even stay in front of you hotel and book by mobile phone and check in a little bit later. This is very usefull if you need to go to different locations (as a friend of mine did)
Give it a try,
P.S. english version is by far not as comprehensive as the chinese.

I have friends in Hong Kong that use their local travel agent to book for me, whether in HKG, Shenzhen or Guangzhou. This is the cheapest way since their rates are much lower.
These sites are helpful too:

i take advantage of travelocity for motel searches; they are going to teach you the bottom cost for the shape of persons you enter, yet you could click by on any motel and be conscious each and each of the costs they are providing on your dates. Expedia does that besides. i have not considered an internet site which will do "lodges with 2-bedroom suites"

Go to http://www.grab2travel.com
Go to Hotels Section

Try "SmartSearch" - Enter your trip detail once and compare all major travel sites from one place without entering same trip information again and again ! I liked it... worth to bookmak !
