When I press the "on" button on my Dell computer, the computer starts. But during the startup, it tends to stop functioning or pause in the "Welcome" screen. Sometimes, I have to wait for more than 10 minutes for it to enter the desktop. I'm not sure whether it hangs or have a very long pause in the "Welcome" screen. At times, I even tried pressing the "Ctrl-Alt-Del" button several times in the "Welcome" screen, but that attempt failed miserably. Nothing actually happened. And also, I've installed Microsoft BootVis and optimized my system boot with that application. But now, this problem came back. So, please help me to solve this problem. Please, help me, please.

Actually, this startup problem does not happen all the time. That means that not all startups will have suffer such a problem. Generally, this problem only happens once a while, and not all the time. Let's say, once in 10 boots. So, it's not a problem faced in every boot. But still, I want to fix this problem. Please help me, please....

I just finished reviewing your previous questions to see if I could get a better idea what might be going on and it seems you might be just introducing more oppertunities for more problems before you even have the old problems totally fixed.

The reason I'm saying that is I noticed quite a few problems with Windows XP, then you partioned the drive and created a multi-boot with Windows Vista.

If it were me, I would have wiped the system clean to get rid of all the problems with Windows XP and then did a fresh install. Then, setup the multi-boot with Windows Vista.

Once you have that done and have picked up all the security patches for each version, then you could start loading all the software and devices as you need them.

It seems u have too much stuff installed on yur computer and also too much stuff on startup. Normally i wud tell people to uninstall any programs they dont use and defragment but yur situation is bad. Here what to so, burn yur important stuff on a cd or save then on a USB stick. After u do this, reinstall windows XP and make sure it is a clean install and not the repair option. Clean install means formatting yur HD and a fresh copy xp hence why we backed up yur important stuff on a cd. I suggest before running the setup tho to run a scandisk/checkdisk feature. Go to my computer, right click on the C Drive and click properties. Click the tools tab and click the error checking option where u check or tip off all the error checking options so when the computer restarts, it will check for errors. Doing this will make sure yur disk is not damaged. Laterz.

3rd party app, your bad, that's what you get for trying free crap. Don't you think that Microsoft can optimize their own program if it runs on 90% of the worlds' computers?

You have obviously "optimized" nothing, try removing the speeder-upper, bet it works wonders

Failing that, have you even talked to Dell?
