I would suggest you study the Bible with Jehovah's Witnesses. If you are interested in other religions, they even have a book which discusses several different religions which they will leave with you free of charge. By the time you finish your study, you will know enough about the Bible to really examine any other faith you come across in light of Bible truth. You can use any Bible you wish for this study as all translations and versions have been preserved well enough by God that you can determine the truth if you really look.

You should choose yourself which religion is the best and logic.
You should make a comparative study between Catholic religion and Islam.
You should read carefully the contents of holy book of Bible and holy book Al Qur'an and its explanation in hadith. through a formal translation.
You should compare its contents and record the differences and contradictions
You should study also the islamic and christianity books that have been written by the wlelknown writers of the related religion.
You should discuss your record of differences and contradictions with the wellknown theologists in the related religion
At the end you can conclude which religion is better and logic.

I was baptized by a popes assistant (claim to fame), my cousin. Went to 2 catholic schools. For the "better" education. Known many priests that I have gotten along great with. They enjoy my banter. Lots of theological schooling. I find fascination in all of the faiths and enjoy studying religions history. I still do, however, with all that information, logic won out. Science just makes sense to me. For you, I hope you choose whatever makes you happy.

What's wrong with your roots? You have some background from your Catholic schooling. I assume that you are an adult now, why not start there, but with a serious and adult look? Check out http://www.ewtn.com

Btw, what do you mean that "grandpa was a layman priest"? That doesn't make sense.

It depends on what you are and what you want to believe.

If you need logic and discipline, then it's islam.

If you want to believe in re incarnation and so on, Buddhism is the wisest decision.

If you are gay then I think sects like Sai Baba... Universalist...

Join a religion which reflects what you think is good and bad. This will make your living a heaven.

I'm not forcing you but i'm suggesting both you and your wife convert into Islam. After a convert, you both must be remarried as a Muslim under the Syaria Law and renew your marriage license as a Muslim couple. As a Muslim,u must be highly responsible to your wife(loving, caring etc..) and so does her to you.Just follow the Islamic law and you both shall be fine.No hard-feelings,no worries:-))

If you seek, you will find!

I suggest you gradually research Islam...you may find what you are looking for in this religion...even if it takes you a long time...Islam makes the most sense!

Find out from the converts what attracted them to the religion:

Mmm to be honest...that looks like a complicated escenario...becoz of ur husband.

I was catholic but now I turned muslim..and I could invite u to read Quran, and I actually do, but I dont know how is ur personality. Islam takes a lot of discipline like fasting in this month of Ramadan and...of course it implies u not to be married to an atheist...

So...I would better say: how much important is God in ur life??

Ur answer will define ur future and ur best option.

For me God comes first...but I know most of people find it hard to focus their lifes this way.

May God bless u.

Follow what you believe is true. Hopefully that's something sensible and tolerant, and something your spouse can live with.

I've never understood how people can "choose" to believe in one religion or another. To me, choosing to believe in Thor or Zeus or Buddha or Jesus is like choosing to believe 2+2=5.
