Perhaps you should have your husband see a doctor and have a sleep study done. Snoring can be a sign of sleep apnea. Sleep apnead creates lack of oxygen in the blood stream, and can also lead to heart disease. If you don't mind him being around so long, let it go (LOL). Seriously have him see a doctor.

Snoring can be a sign of sleep apnea. He should have it checked out. I know there is a surgery that can eliminate snoring.

Also, buy some breathe right strips and have him wear one on the bridge of his nose every night. It should help!

Good Luck!

First, my husband doesn't snore when he is on his side.

Second, get a sleep study. You might have sleep apania. If so, you can get a CPAP, which cause positive pressure into your lungs and you won't snore anymore.

You can try antihistamines or breathe right strips.

If his head is sideways he shouldn't snore, because the snoring is caused by the tongue propped down against the back of the throat, and the mouth wide open. If you roll him onto his side it should stop.

if he wants to stop, but still does... do an old trick and wise elderly lady told me once. Buy him pajamas / Use old shirt he sleeps in and sew a marble in the back (square cloth, sew up 3 sides, place marble, sew 4th). That way, whenever he is on his back he'll get a bit uncomfortable and roll off of the marble. Sounds like a plan that would work to me... thank goodness my dh doesn't snore.

Good luck!

Sometimes if they loose a little weight they will stop. If its in the airway (like blockage) he may have allergies and need antihistamines (like benadryl) before going to bed. Get a pillow that properly supports the neck and have him sleep on his back or side. If none of this works for you put a real comfortable bed in the guest room.

If he's on his back while snoring try getting him to sleep on his side. You could also get him to try wearing those breathing strips.
