Is there any type of training or degree that is recomended or required for me to get a job hooking up car stereo equipment?

MECP Certification. Location is in Daytona, Fl and Somewhere in California....Google it

You don't need a license or certification for car audio, however an electronics degree will be most helpful in understanding ohm's law, wiring and op-amp technology. You will also learn other aspects of electronics to even do repairs yourself.

If you know someone in the field find out if he would do an appenticeship program for you and see if they offer the theory end of it at your local trade colleges best to go ask some people in the business and see what they did to get into it sometimes it is just easy to ask the pros.

I dont think there is necceasrly a certificate or degree for that, might help if you have some electrical classes under your belt. Mostly should just require experience and street cred. ( meaning people that can vouch that you know what you are doing)

approch some car audio manufacturers and if you stock their products they might train you up to instal their equipment. worth a try
