Up your intake of calories and make sure they are clean. Make sure your meats are lean and all your cooked foods are prepared the proper way (not fried). Your best proteins are always found in foods (meats, yogurt, milk, nuts, cheese, beans, and some veggies). Best carbohydrates are found in Whole Grain breads, oatmeal, any kind of bean, brown rice, and whole grain pastas. As for fruit and vegetables eat as much of these as you want at anytime (as long as they are raw and fresh). Ideally you need to have a healthy dose of Fiber in your diet always which you will find in Whole Grain product beans and produce. To supplement your protein intake buy some Whey Protein (preferably Natures Best perfect Isopure).
Eat six meals a day
Breakfast 8am
Snack 10 am
Lunch 12pm
Snack 2 pm
Dinner 4 or 5 pm
Snack 8 pm
Each meal should contain at least 1 major protein source
and 1 to 3 carbs or fruit/Veg
Drink water throughout the day, all day every day.
Start your diet for a week or 2 before hitting the gym. Make your eating and your exercise religous to you.
Start doing simple exercises in the gym, first timer use machines they help you keep decent form.
Squats
Bench press
Lat Pull downs
Military press
Rows
tricep pushdowns
Leg extensions
Bicep curls
Leg curls
Work these exercises for 8-10 reps, one exercise after another with minimal rest(30 sec) and restart (this is called circut training) complete cycle 1 time to start and go until you can gradually complete the cycle 3 times. Do this work out Monday Wednesday and Friday. Rest Tuesday Thursday and Party Saturday and Sunday.
GOOD LUCK

I am haveing the same problem but remeber if your metabilysm is working fast then eat alot of carbon hydrates and when ever you have time to snack on something like jerky or something with protein then do it. Also if you are into lifting weights the time when you get the most results is when you are on at 6 to 8 reps at 3 sets you gain weight and definition.

POTATOES is a staple for people who want to put on more weight.
Bread and pasta is another, but still stick to whole wheat and whole grain bread, and pasta that not in heavy oil, you want to put on weight or mass yes... but not sloppy fat.
Yogurt and Dairy with out all that junk in it... is a good shot too.
