are crunches the best way to loose the flab from your upper abs? and is there a correct way to do them?

crunches will define your abs. In order to lose the flab ya have to do cardio, like running, swimming, jumping, dancing . .

They will help. When doing them do not anchor your feet under something, they must be left free and you only need to raise up until you feel a tightness in the stomach muscles, usually raising the shoulders a little ways off the floor, don't raise up all the way as you will be just wasting effort. Curl chin to chest first and then curl the shoulders up. Do each curl or crunch slowly, do it them to fast again is a waste of time.
Going slowly you get a better work out sooner than doing a lot of them fast. Also sitting straight in a chair with a broom stick or similar behind your neck and then twisting slowly one side to the other, trying to see as much of the back room each time will help and then bending side to side slowly will help. Make sure you stretch as far as you can each time.

well it will help alot but if that is the only thing your doing than your just building muscle under the flab.
