Most people say breakfast so you have energy. Yet most European countries have a small breakfast/dinner and big lunch. I personally have small breakfast/lunch and eat a big dinner. For those who wants to watch their figure, should they be eating everything in the morning so they burn it off during the day?

Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day and I try to have something yummy everyday - even if I just have time to have a hard boiled egg, some apple slices with penut butter and my *$ coffee ;)
However, you have to find what works best for you, your lifestyle and your metabolism.
Though not everyone likes to eat a full meal first thing in the morning... it is important to have some protien,a little fruit, some H20 and a good multivitamin never hurts (protien, energy and fiber).
Breaking up three large meals into several small portions throughout the day can be a benefit as well - since many times a large meal (regardless of which meal) can make you feel sluggish, bloated or uncomfortable - especially when you still need to finish your work day and your stuck at your desk, etc.

Check out these links for more information ... there's an online article on nutrition (from nutrition.about.com) and an article by "Dr. Susan Mitchell" "Mitchell says that eating 'many mini' meals throughout the day ...can stave off hunger pangs that could trigger a binge meal later."

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, however should not necessarily be the biggest. If you are watching you figure, you s/be eating 6 small meals a day instead of 3 large ones. The larger the meal, the more you stretch your stomach. So the more it expects each time you eat = you always feeling hungry = you eating more.

Your 6 "meals" s/be: breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner, dessert/supper. Lunch should always be your biggest meal as you have the afternoon to burn up energy and if you are going to eat carbs (bread, rice, pasta) it should be at lunch time. You don't have the opportunity to burn this up in the evening, esp. if you have a late dinner.

Hope this helps!

Yea, breakfast is the best because it makes your brain wake up and be more active throughout the day. Then when you eat a small lunch and dinner the calories are burning off. However, the best way to eat is something small that is healthy every 3 to 4 hours because then as you eat you burn the calories and dont eat after 7pm if you go to bed around 10

They say people should eat a big breakfast because if you don't than you usually will eat more throughtout the day because you will be more hungry. When someone eats breakfast they aren't as hungry until a while so they don't consume as many calories, not gaining weight. If you aren't dieting than eat on.

Ideally, you should be having six to seven mini meals each day. Having only three large meals a day isn't as healthy. So, all these light meals, evenly spaced out, are most important in giving you continual energy throughout your day.
