I'm doing the "Four Face Buddha" for my art history research paper. And I need the history, origin, evolvement of the four face buddha. I heard that it originally came from India, but it is famous and widely worshiped in Thailand (Bangkok). How was the buddha different in India and Bangkok?
And I would appreciate very much if you could give me reliable sources. With website that has org, gov, edu... and so on.
Thank you very much!

I would like to know how to pray and make offerings to the four faces buddha. Do we pray one side or must we pray four sides? I read somewhere that we would offence the other 3 buddhas if we only pray one side.
Once again, please come with answers with reliable sources. Thank you very much!

the 4 faced- buddha is hindu, not a buddhist diety. The four face is God is Prea Proom, the hindu god.
or another theory:
Brahma Sahampati or as you described it as "Four Faced Buddha" is not a buddha in any sense of that word. He is a being of the heavenly realms in the 31 Planes of Existence.
He resides in the 14th plane and there are many many more powerful devas than him.
it is most popular in thailand, cambodia, myanmmar...

the particular four-faced buddha seems to grant your wish(es) if you are devoted & YOU MUST PRAY TO ALL THE 4 DIRECTIONS (anti clockwise direction), otherwise, if you missed out anoyone of them, you may get 'punished' - i.e nightmares, or accidents.

If you check outthe iconography of Four Faced Buddha, he bears a striking resemblence to the Hindu God Brahma, who also is a major personality in many of the Buddha's teachings where Lord Brahma ( aka FFB) would descend from his heavenly abode to request the Buddha for teachings or blessings
Some traditions call him the Four Faced Brahma

Charles Darwin's, On the Origin of Species, is the definitive book on the origin of man. because its factual, bible is the last book i would ever call logical. you seem to forget that the bible was written by fanatics. thus you can never believe something written by such people. and remember there were i believe to start with about 30 gospels un-yet the bible is only made up of about 4 or so gospels. so even there you have a very narrow view of there own religion. no the bible is mans work not some gods work. its all to do with propaganda and control.
