There really isn't one solid answer to such a subjective question. Everyone has their personal favorite, as I suspect the range of answers will show. Personally, my favorite is the '69 Mustang Fastback, or "Sportsroof", as Ford called it. As to the "best" muscle car, I would look at what effects each car had on the industry and the general populous. The GTO, for example, was the first "factory muscle car". Some would say the Camaro or the Mustang, or the original Corvette or the Cobra, but I believe these are sports cars and not truly muscle cars, although the differences are frequently very slight. Some would also argue that a car cannot be called a muscle car unless it had been modified. I guess the best thing to do is decide not what is the best muscle car, but which one you like the most, because the first question is something that I doubt even half of the muscle car enthusiasts will ever agree on.

Hemicuda!
Or the 69 Yenko Camaro.
That's without taking into consideration the money you would have to fork out for Elanor or the 427 Cobra.

Old, before they tried to make them all look pretty.
Muscle cars should have balls and lots of grunt, they should look tough aswell as perform that way, not all dainty and 'appealing' to the female consumer.
