I'm only a master at those simple everyday sins we all know well enough to avoid - yet I stumble every day on the same freaking ones.

The consequences of any action are impossible to understand fully. We only feel we understand the consequences when we limit how far we look into the results of an action. We say, "A lead to B lead to C, so A was a good thing" (or a bad thing.) But the consequences of an action continue on and on. Way past 50 moves. Maybe even past "checkmate!" After we stop looking at a chain of events, after we stop labelling it, the chain continues. We don't control it, and we don't see it, because we die before the effects of our actions end.

the answer to your question really depends on what your society / environment define as "sin"... sin for you doesn't necessarily translate into the same thing for some other cultures.
