You have periodontal decease. Floss & brush gently and thouroughly twice a day and rinse with listerine following that.
It's the gums that hold your teeth in and you will loose teeth if you allow the desease to cause bone loss.
Dental hygine is very important!

It sounds like you may have some sort of oral infection that needs to be treated by a dentist (or an oral hygienist). Make an appointment with your dentist, and then follow whatever course of treatment he prescribes. In the meantime, you might try gargling with warm salt water as a mild anesthestic and antiseptic. I have also heard that "tea tree oil" is good for bleeding gums. You can apply it with a Q-tip to the affected areas. (It is sold with the vitamins & homeopathic medicines at most pharmacies). It will probably burn, too, but it should help heal the swollen gums. You can also use Orajel or other local anesthetics to numb the sore areas so that you can at least eat and talk without so much irritation until you can get to a dentist. But I would not rely totally on home remedies. If you have a severe case of gingivitus, you can lose the gum tissue that hold the teeth in place and end up losing teeth. If your gums are damaged too much, you will not even be able to be fitted with false teeth to replace them. So don't take a chance on it!

i just had an apt a month ago and it was my first cleaning after many years. i know, gross, but oh well, we learn from our mistakes. anyhow, hygienist said my gum lines were at 4mm instead of the normal 3mm and in order to close them that extra 1mm, i had to: buy and use an electric toothbrush, floss (i have never flossed before so this part sucked the worse), and rinse with saltwater. she said my gums would start to heal or be healed in 3 days flat. she was right. i had a checkup apt 7 days later and, after i had religiously adhered to her instructions, my gums were reportedly in "fabulous" shape and i was even then bumped up to become a veneer candidate. (my dentist will NOT do veneers on someone w unhealthy hygiene so i essentially had to prove myself first.......which is OK with me cuz it motivated me and i now do all that's required religiously). i love that my gums NEVER bleed when i floss now. it's great to see improvement htat fast. very motivating. anyway, good luck!

You really need to see a dentist.........Trust me you can have plaque build up, pyarrhia, there are several gum diseases out there from mostly not brushing enough, or the right way....or flossing.........
If not treated by a dentist soon, your teeth will loosen in your gum line and fall out..If this happens, a dentist can put them back in properly.......Rinsing with peroxide diluted with equal water amount is good....Or you can also use 4 ounces of water to 1/2 tsp of salt.............swish in mouth , then spit out,,,keep doing it
until solution all gone.........Ask your dentist what he thinks you should rinse with.....good luck...

First you really need a good cleaning from the dentist and a check-up to see what the problem is.
Other than that brusing at least twice a day (esp. before sleeping!), flossing, using listerine and massaging tea tree oil onto the gums will help.
Tea tree oil is a natural antiseptic and inhibits the growth of plaque.

First, find out what the cause of it is.
(One guy couldn't get rid of his headaches with tablets or massage or diet change ... till the doc said, take off your hat ... Wow, that cured me, thanks doc! I'll get a bigger hat size.)
The doc tells you to say "AHHHH" because other things can show up in the mouth. Check with your doc, that's what she/he is there for.
Your goal is not to get rid of the bleeding,. Your goal is to get rid of the reason the bleeding is there.
diagnosis without analysis is malpractise

Brush regularly, use a medium soft brush, good toothpaste. Floss regularly, and SEE YOUR DENTIST. HE OR SHE IS THE BEST DEFENSE AGAINST GUM DISEASE.
