Not extinct....endangered. Several refuge centers are breeding the snow leopard to increase its numbers.

If the snow leopard is extinct, then there is nothing you can do to save them since they are already there.
However, I don't believe they are extinct. I think maybe you meant "endangered".
If people would stop being greedy for the beautiful pelts and the wealth they bring...and respect the animal as one of God's creatures, then we would not have to worry.
Also, they need to be placed in an environment where the males and females can breed and reproduce, thus populating the snow leopard community.

The snow leopard is not a different color of leopard. It is a distinct species of leopard. They are rare and endangered but not extinct. Extinct means gone forever, no more left. Their habitat needs to be not just protected but expanded. The zoos and animal parks that have them are actively working to get them to breed. If they can be successfully bred in captivity and their natural habitat can be expanded someday they may be able to become firmly established in the wild again.

There are estimated between 3,500 and 7,000 snow leopards left. You can make a donation to save the snow leopard from extinction at the website I've included as a link.

Short of reconstruction of DNA (thinking Jurassic Park) I don't see how you could bring back an animal from extinction cause it is um gone.

The Snow Leopard itself is not extinct it is in danger of becoming extinct but a few of them still exist. See the link

one of the major constraints is lack of space. We (humans) are always invading into their natural habitat and converting the land into an urban jungle with skyscrapers. If we can just learn to give the animals their area and not burn everything down, probably we can save a few more animals from extinction.

sturdy canines, oops I meant to declare sturdy adult males! ok heavily i'm uncertain because of the fact i do no longer understand of all of the animals that have become extinct. besides the undeniable fact that I observed on Animal Planet that the Cheetah became going extinct, so i will say the Cheetah then.

Actually, the snow leopard is not yet extinct.

They live in remote areas, so encroachment by people is not the main problem.

The main problem is illegal hunting of this beautiful beast.

For more info see below, and other related sites.

By extinct, that means that there is not a single one left in the world eg. 'the Dodo bird is extinct'. Snow leopards happen genetically, it is possible for two normal coloured leopards to have snow leopards.

Simple. Get them together to make little baby Snow leopards and keep them safe from fur hunters. I doubt there will be enough babies to repopulate the species and not have them imbred with disease.... but theres always a chance.

Save the snow leopards... do not have your pet snowys spayed or neutered!
