Hi McKenzie! My name is lore. You do not sound so happy, I will try my best to make you smile by suggesting things for you to do, ok? First sorry about your Dad in prison...hope he comes home sooner than you think, while he is there here are somethings to do.
1. Get a paper, plain one, put your hand on it, with a pencil draw around your hand, in and around your fingers. Write a message like hi, love you and other things on each figure. Write a poem in the palm of the hand and mail it to him. 2. Take a coloring book picture you like, color it, sign it, make a frame for it, send it to your Dad. Get a journal for you to write your feelings in
daily...each day write in it, later send the journal to your Dad when it is full. Make funny faces in it or anything you would like but be sure to write things in it to share with your Dad. For Halloween send him a colored pumpkin from a coloring book, Christmas the same thing. Run out of ideas write me ok?
God Bless you and your Mom

Awww...my best suggestion is to just keep doing what your doing. Your dad is probably very porud of you and wants to be there with you while your growing up. In time, you'll realize that him being in prison isn't that bad. You can still talk and you can still have a dad. Hang on and you and your mommy will give each oter strength. feel better, okay?

I don't want to be a joy kill, but how can you call your daddy in jail. that is not allowed, he has to call you collect. Well, I will let that go for now. You and your mom need counseling. This will be the only thing that can solve your problem. This might show the both of you that it has nothing to do with you, (what he did) that he probably did it without thinking of his family. He might be regretful now, but it is too late for him. Iam sure he is now saying I wish I had not done that. Your mommy and you get some help first then you can deal with your dad.

Hi Mckenzie,My father is in prison to.I was 18 years old and pregnant with my first child when he went to jail. But believe it or not, there is nothing you can do about the situation. The only thing you can do is pray to GOD,have FAITH that your father will come home soon, and keep on writing him every chance you get. When you write him, believe me,you brighten up his day.Know one thing, that it is hard for him like it is hard for you, just by being away from you and can't be there for you and with you.My father was my roll model and he took real good care of me and I love him so very much for that. When my father went to prison,it felt like my hole world caved down on me,like I had lost everything. My mother was not in my life at all.My father took me from my mom cause she abused me and when he went to prison it felt like I did not have anyone. But I did,my grandparents was there for me,my father's parents. My father has 70 years and that was his first time going to prison,he did not do anything that bad to get those many years. As long as I can write him and go see him and talk to him,I can deal with it a little. Now both of my grandparents are dead I feel like I do not have any more family but my 3 kids and my husband. My kids went through the same thing to.My husband, their father went to prison for 5 years and it was really hard for all of us.I had to be mom and dad until he came home.I did my best at being there for them and trying to keep it off of their mind as much as I could. So just pray for your father and have faith that he will come home soon and watch what the LORD will do for you.I wish you all the luck in the world and GOD Bless.

Hi McKenzie,
Well, I am a parent also, and if you were my daughter I would tell you to continue sending him letters in order to keep him informed about the new things that are happening in your life. I would also ask Mommy to take pictures of you involved in fun activities and send them to your Dad. In addition if you have a recent picture of your Daddy you could ask Mommy to take it to the nearest Walgreens or CVS photo center, and have the picture enlarged. Next, frame the picture and place it on your night stand next to your bed.

Sweetie...just keep on doing what you are doing and be thankful he is responding. Remember there are plenty of kids out there that don't have Dads, that don't have parents... or do have both and are ignored.
Be happy your Mom is there with you and that you Dad probably wants to be there with you. Give your Mom all the extra hugs and kisses you would give your Dad if you could... as I'm sure she could use them.
Hang in there!

Hi McKenzie. I am sure your dad is very proud of you. He is a good dad because you are a good daughter. We all make mistakes, but we can learn not to make those mistakes any more when we are corrected. Just keep writing to him and always let him know you love him very much. God bless you.

Your story brought tears to my eyes.I don't have any advice for you, this is a tough one.It took me most of my life just to find my father and then he passed away a few years later. The few years I had with him I called him every Sunday morning and the time I did have with him I will never forget.Stick close to your mom.

Take a piece of paper and trace your hand. Do this often as you grow so he can see you getting bigger. I know you can send pictures, but this is more personal.
He can also trace his hand on a piece of paper for you, although he won't be growing. :-)
Make sure you send him lots of stamps so he can mail you lots of letters.
