Sanjoman 15 ~
Let me start off by writing that Toughguy and Frank D know their boxing and people who come to this forum for just a little bit a knowledge about Boxing should read their questions and answers.
The only thing that Floyd has in common with Ali and Sugar Ray is that he is African American other than that the similarities stop there. Who has he fought to proclaim that he is "Great"? The list is long and distinguished of the fighters Ali and Sugar Ray fought, Hall of Famers in both of their records.
Floyd's record might read 36 - 0 but anyone who follows boxing knows without a doubt he was beaten in his first fight with Jose' Luis Castillo and was given a gift decision. He beat Castillo in their rematch, which he clearly won, but he did lose the first one.
The only thing that Floyd is really "Great" at is, beating women, oh yeah, he's really great at it and he seems to like it just as much as he does fighting handpicked opponents, just ask the mother of three of his children Josie Harris who Floyd kicked, punched and pulled patches of her hair out of her head including a very expensive weave. At the trial Josie seemed to develope a severe case of memory loss even with the help of witnesses and police reports.
If you don't want to talk to Josie there's the two woman in Grand Rapids Michigan that Floyd punched , kicked and pulled their hair out too (He loves doing that) if your really not up for a trip to Michigan, not to worry two years back at a Las Vegas night club Floyd was up to his usual ways and beat up two other woman, this time he received a one year suspended sentence and ordered to get "Impulse - Control" counseling for punching, kicking and pulling out their hair and weaves.
"Greatness" should not only be how a pugilist fights in the ring but also how he/she handles themselves out of the ring another thing required for "Greatness" is that a fighter fight the very best of the era like the "Great Ali" and the "Great Sugar Ray" did.
Next time Floyd wants to spout off the he's "Great" he should first ask Josie Harris, Casandra Jones, Vicky Price, Lashonda Cleavers and any other woman he put his handa on in a violent manor "Do you think I'm great?"
Sanjoman 15, Floyd is entertaining to watch fighting against very limited and controlled opposition but a true "Great" fighter is defined by his/hers gutsy performances against the best competition of their era, just like Ali and Sugar Ray.

All information about Floyd's arrest are public information.

I think you can tell i agree because if you look back in my questions i asked something very simular a couple of weeks ago after he had proclaimed himself the best pound for pound boxer in the world at the (Baldomir) pre fight press conference, i just cant understand how he can say this when the whole world can see he ducked Margarito. I have to say that i respect his boxing ability and he is definitely up there with the best, but the way he is carrying on with that big mouth of his i cant help but think that i want someone to shut him up, and in fact i don't just want to see him beaten i want to see him humiliated, put on his backside about 6 times should do it. The only thing is i cant see Baldomir doing it and you are exactly right if he keeps handpicking his opponents he may never get beat.
As for his comparisons of himself with Robinson and Ali they are just laughable, only someone with a mouth as big as his could even think about making comments like that.
Even when Ali was shouting his mouth off about being the greatest he done it in a way that people still liked him. Mayweather is just alienating more and more people from liking him, if he had finished his career and beaten everybody he came up against without ducking anyone you could maybe listen to him, but we both know that isn't going to happen as he is already ducking anybody that will give him a fight.

PBF is a great fighter but like many other boxers who were considered great, he moved up in weight-class and is not winning as easily. Consider his biggest weapons; technique, hand and foot-speed. He definitely doesn't have the power of a Ray Robinson and he's never been in the battles that Ali won by skill and shear force of will (especially towards the end of Ali's career. The young Ali seemed unbeatable).

There seems to be a lot like him including Mayweather among others that think they are already in legendary status which makes me laugh. The competition has been weak and to me he really isn't all that great. Just ego tripping I guess.

I don't know if he is the MOST arrogant. I mean Ricardo Mayorga was pretty arrogant before the golden boy put him in his place. I think a lot of fighters are arrogant, it almost comes with the game.

i think after PBF beets Baldomir, Oscar, Sugar Shane, Cotto, and every other contender he's going to face over the next 2 - 3 years, we will all see that it as arrogant as he is, he was right.
