Okay, i'm a very athletic person and play basketball and football. I run and work out every day and have never had any problems with my body. But in the last month i have been getting sharp pains in my stomach right below my ribcage. It happens when i run for long periods of times and when i breath. Does anyone know what is happening too me? Thanks in advance!

possible causes, muscular, pleuritic or more likely costochondritis (is it tender to touch too?), best treatment would be motrin 200 mg 3 pills every 8 hours (with snacks each time) for 3-5 days, if it persists or worsens then you want to see a doctor, good luck

The untechnical term for it is a stitch in your side, it is from over-used muscles, from using them more than they are used to being used.
If it continues, see a doctor. There might be a medical reason that is causing the pain.
