EDUCATION IS MOST IMPORTANT AT LEAST A BACHELORS DEGREE BUT EITHER AGENCY WILL HELP YOU GET INTO THE FEDS IF YOU WANT ALOT OF EXCITEMENT TRY NYPD AND THEN BORDER PATROL THEY HAVE THE HARDEST ACADEMY OUT OF ALL FEDERAL AGENCIES AND MANY COMPARE IT TO A MILITARY BOOTCAMP

You'll get more experience with the NYPD. State troopers are mostly traffic cops. Ok, I'll prolly get alot of flack for that, no disrespect, we need them on our highways....but really, it's true

What is going to matter to the feds, is your proficiency on the job with the local police . The agency is of little consequence.
