Flea baths don't work. Over the counter flea meds dont work. Get either Frontline or Advantix if you bathe often. If you dont bathe but once a month or so, you can use Advantage. Advantage just isn't as waterproof as the other two. Whatever you chose, don't get over the counter...you're wasting your money, and products like that have been known to cause neurological damage, along with other problems on more than one occasion.

Frontline Plus is the only way to go. I treat all five of my pups every month with that stuff. It's expensive--but it works. And we'd gone the whole flea spray, flea powder and flea bath route. All you have to do is open the little vial and pour the contents out on some skin between their front shoulder blades. Once you do this it soaks into the skin and works its way over the whole body. Don't bathe them for 3 days after you apply it.
Frontline interferes with some enzymes that the fleas need to grow to adulthood. Fleas will jump on your pup, bite and get some blood with Frontline Plus in it. They will lay eggs and the eggs will hatch. Then when the immature fleas are ready to pupate and turn into adult fleas they lack a certain enzyme to finish the pupa process. No pupa process, no adult fleas. Woohoo!
My 'little' chihuahua Lilly (14 lbs) swears by Frontline. It keeps all the nasty fleas off her year round!

Frontline or Revolution.
You can get the right dosage at the vet's office.
If you are being bitten by fleas in your own home, you should also treat your home. You can also buy a premise spray at most vet's offices' as well. A premise spray is a spray to treat your home.
If you and your family arent being bitten in the house, Frontline or Revolution should do the trick. Its a once a month dosage, real easy to use.

Get some frontline for her and you will need to treat the yard and the house. When you give her aflea bath, it only kills the fleas on the dog. They are still in the furniture, the carpet and the yard.

I had a hard time finding a flea solution too. my 7 pound weiner dog got them like mad. I bought him a puppy and kitten wash that is all natural. I don't know what it is called, but they sell it at Petsmart. I dunno about your dog, but mine was a dirt magnet. So I had to bathe him about once a week. The solutions that go on their necks are made for infrequent bathing. Try this shampoo. I'm sure you will like it. Oh, and warm it up in a bowl first to keep your little one from screaming!

1st you need to treat your yard.....Wal-mart....buy yard spray for fleas. Follow instructions, buy keep your pets off til dries.
If your Chihuahua is a house pet, you need to treat your home also. Look at Wal-mart for house sprays for fleas. Keep your pet off til it dries also.
Once you have done all of this-Go to your vet & buy some Frontline/7 lb. canine.
This is the only way to do it-right!
