twice and has been deported (all this has happened before i met him) He is now in U.S. (where i met him and started dating). Right when we started going out he found a job with a construction contractor who has taken him under his wing and given him a job as a laborer, helping to build condos in San Francisco. Since i've only known him for a short time, i proposed i wanted to get to know him more, but when i think that this can become a serious relationship and maybe marriage in the future, what chances are there for me to help him get legal. Or should i let him figure it out on his own and suggest his boss sponsor him? Remember he has two deportations, i don't know the immigration laws that well.

If you found out that he was illigal by yourself ( meaning he never ask you to help him) and you love him and see yourself spending the rest of you life with him, ask and immigratin lawyer and getting married in his situation would be helpful.

I married an illegal and he still isn't legal and he has never been deported! Or even arrested.
You can not help him get here legally. No one can. One of my husbands friends had been deported 3 times, later on he married an American and hired an immigration attorney. He is screwed he will not likely ever be allowed (legally) in the US.
Immigration laws aren't very complicated, you need to talk to an attorney but even sponsorship is not something that will help him. Sponsorship would not be helpful to my husband either.

I have several horror stories of couples who, like us have TRIED to to everything legally and still get denied. One couple was separated for 7 hears while he waited in Mexico for INS to make a decision. They invested $7000.00, completely complied with INS and they denied him for no reason at all!!
My advice aside from talking to an attorney, is to give up the legalization of your Latino. Love him & cope with the fact that he is a second class person - that is what the rest of us do.

If it was a true deportation he would be banned from coming back for 10 years and is subject to some pretty serious jail time after TWO, plus a felony conviction with a lifetime ban.

No offense, but you might really want to think about where you are going, with this one.

So, he has lied to your country (immigration) - suppose he might lie to you too???
Who knows - what he left behind - who he left behind- and why?
