yup... its fact... someone with good character will do what is right no matter what is at stake, whether its in the presence of everyone, a few people 1 person or nobody...if everyone were like this there would be no need for an Army, a Navy, an Air Force, the Marines or the Police......too bad its not a perfect world

I agree wholeheartedly! Anyone can do the right thing when people are watching. All that means is they don't want to get into trouble, or they want recognition for doing good deeds. For example, even a criminal will refrain from taking something from a store if there's a cop standing right there! But the true test of character, or what I like to call integrity, is doing the right thing when you don't have to, or no one is watching. Because in those times only you will know what you've done. And if you have good character, it will act as sort of a built in "judge" or "cop".
Even jesus talked about this, when he told his disciples that they didn't have to pray in churches where everyone could see them; that they could pray in the closet or at home, because He would know they prayed and that's what counted.

I absolutely agree. Because only you and God know how you really are as a person on the inside. Sometimes people put on a facade in front of people and then behind closed doors they could care less. So yes, I do agree.

Yeah, I could agree with that. That doesn't leave too many people with good character though, haha.

Yes.........how else would you measure it, strictly by what people do in public or by what they do when no one is looking. If its only when they are around other people they are pretending to be something they are not. And thats not character.

I agree but I think there is more to it. I think it's giving selflessley and truly caring about the world not just those close to you.
