I'm supposed to meet my biological father really soon.

He's never seen me in real life, only pictures. What should I talk to him about? It just seems kinda dumb and pointless for me to meet him... he's been out of my life for 16 years, so why should I tell a stranger my life's details even if we share blood and genes.

Suggestons for what to talk about would be greatly appreciated. Thanks^^

This is a hard situation I have only seen my dad a few times in my life and I know it is hard he really didnt start comeing around until I was out of my moms house . I still feel unconfertable talking to him but ask him about his life and tell him about yours . Good Luck .

I say have a general idea of what you want to say but don't stick to any game plan. Let things flow naturally, he may have just as many questions as you. Just be you and have an open mind cause you never really know what may happen that can bring up all kinds of other questions.

well first off he is your Father give the man some credit at least he wants to meet you. you are right i dont think you need to tell him everything may want to ask why after 16 years he wants to meet you. myself i would like to know what is in my DNA so if there is some kind of illness in family history you may need to know of I.E cancer wish you luck...

I would guess that he's just as nervous as you are. You don't have to give your life history that day, take your time. I am sure he will have questions for you. Ask him why he was not around. Be true to yourself, if there is something you want to know ask. I am sure it will be an uncomfortable situation, but one day you will be happy you did it.

Why are you seeing him? Do you want to? If you don't want to then don't.

You'll know what to talk about when you see him...he'll do most of the talking...asking questions etc.
