is the spot warm-this can be a skin infection!!
if not, is the hair falling out and the dog itches all the time-this can be a flea allergy or red mainge! they only way to know is to take it to the vet. all of these things a serous! call around a find the cheapest! i know it can be costly, but it's worth it! hope your find the answers for you little friend!! lots of luck!

Take it to the vet. Could be a fungus or a parasite. He probably licks it alot, which is not good for a fungus. He needs antibiotics. I mean the best thing you can do for him is to get him to the vet so they can look at it professionally. We can't see it. Also, you can try aloe vera(the real thing, not any lotions).

Take him to the vet. He probably has allergies, and by now he probably needs antibiotics. They will give him something for the itching and swelling. And he may need to be put on antibiotics.

try to put some vasoline and after that put some neosporne oitment it heals soarsand cuts very well. you should bring your pet to the vet as it;s got to be in a hell of a lot of pain and misery good-luck

I think it was from a flea bite/irritation
just keep it clean and apply antibiotic
