I dont generally do this unless Im playing with my kids but if I do a cartwheel or summersault I get very dizzy and my vision goes black. I have 20/20 vision (no eye problems). Any other ideas?

How is your blood pressure? How active are you, in general?

It sounds like life. When you do a cartwheel or other upside-down stuff it relocates the blood in your head. The relocation of blood can cause you to lose your vision for a short time. It might also cause to you to see "stars". As long as it only happens during this type of activity, I wouldn't worry about it much. If it happens again while playing, you'll know to be ready for it and you'll know what it is if it happens. If it happens at any other time a visit to your favorite doctor's office might be in order.

Enjoy the kids while you can!

Maybe you are just getting too old to do cartwheels and summersaults. Like a light-headed kind of thing when you are finished tumbling. Just take it down a few notches.

Vertigo can cause this, but a detracted retina can cause you to see stars sometimes on arising or a jerky motion can cause it. A dtracted retina has nothing to do with your vision whether it is 20/20, etc. The retina moves or can move with jerky motion if you have ever had a head injury even a small one.

after my mom lost sight in her left eye an finally went to the doctor, she never complained about her dizziness or anything. but we talked alot about it an she had the same symptoms as you. then she mentioned seeing little sparkles in her vision when she felt dizzy or light headed, the problem was her carotid artery that was 75% blocked on both sides, go get checked out.
