Probably a toy stuffed animal. Dogs are like people in the sense that none of them are perfect. You either love em or your don't.

Poodle, pug, dachshund, pomeranian...the barking thing is a matter of training. And some are always going to be more vocal than others. I bred poms when I was younger and of my 2 "pet" dogs (of the group I raised) one was extremely vocal and 'talked' about everything, all the time; the other spoke only when he wanted out or in. You can get things at the pet store to train them not to bark, if barking bothers you.

The only kind of dog that doesn't bark is a toy stuffed one..Small dogs don't necessarily bark more than big dogs..It all depends on the individual dog and temperament. If you decide you really want a dog, please research the breed and dogs in general so you really know what you are getting into!

King Charles Spaniels (also called Cavalier Spaniels) are very quiet. I have a female & she very rarely barks (unless we're out for a walk & she see's a squirel). I even live in an apartment complex w/ someone above & below me. They aren't tiny, but mine isn't much bigger than my yorkie (keep in mind, my yorkie is not a tea cup one and is 11 lbs.). She is more slender, where he is stalky & she is about an inch to an inch & a half taller than he is. She only weighs 12.5 lbs. Just keep in mind that you should definately research this breed, they aren't for everyone. They need an owner who isn't gone for days at a time or even more than twelve hours, because they will get depressed. They are very attached to their owners and if you work alot, go to college, or both (like I do) they should have another companion to spend the day with while your gone.
Other than this breed, I don't know of any small breeds of dog that are quiet. (Especially not Yorkie's or Pomeranian's)

huge canines are basically huge loveable lugs of fur and exciting, and huge canines would be attractive too, have you ever seen a canines seem up at you along with his huge spectacular brown eyes? Oh that's a melting impact. Smaller canines are hyper and that they've an inclination to yip and nip plenty, plus they do no longer in all threat like walks and not all small canines are sturdy with babies or different pets. huge canines would be very compassionate observing the breed and can be extra useful in relatives circumstances.

Most small dogs are barkers. It is a defence mechanism with them. If you don't want a barker, get a cat.
