What type of dosage form is this? I'm guessing it's the oral suspension. Those oral suspensions don't last long. They are notorious for quick degrading once water is added. This suspension should last for 14 days after being reconstituted. Suspensions should not smell. My concern would be the age of the actual bulk drug. Go back to the MD and complain.

Everything is the world will go bad over time. The have certain ingredients in meds that have expiration dates just like food. You really should call your doctor to see how long the med is good for. You really don't want to take something that will not work for you.

Check the expiration date On the bottle... But you should still check with your doc. Different infections require different antibiotics.

any medication can go bad. if it has been handled properly (according to the label) there is not much likelyhood of it going bad before the expiration date printed on it.
