agree with carolina with one exception. You CAN get acrylic out with out damaging the brush further...it's called Oil brush cleaner...windsor newton makes one, so does EZ Air, as well as Createx airbrush restorer...yeah I know, you said acrylic. It loosens that too. It won't straighten the hairs, but at least you'd have a usable junk brush...
I'm lousy at taking good care of my brushes, and consequently, buy em on sale...cheap cheap cheap. I don't feel TOO bad when they get trashed.

Brushes have to be taken care of. Use a mild soapy warm water to keep clean. Don't touch to your skin .The oils will get soaked into the bristles. Thoroughly clean your brushes constantly. Never let them sit in water for long periods of time. This makes the wood swell and crack the paint on the shaft and it loosens the head. Lose bristles should be trimmed as closely to the head as possible and never pulled out. store the brush shaft down. When you do not do these things your brush becomes irreversibly damaged . Acrylic paint is a plastic .And when it dries it becomes hard and you can't clean it without destroying the brush. Good news is you now have a junk brush .You can use it to do things that you don't want to use a good brush for. You could also trim the bristles th make a different type of brush for specific tasks.
