Honestly I think the developtment of virtual reality will be improve in the next years and holograms will be the next big thing, besides, of course the robots that are gonna do all the physical jobs in the future, but I dont know how many years till everybody could have one, cause at first as always just rich people will be able to have them.

Generation of electricity by fusion.

Reducing the influence of petroleum on world politics and economics will be the most revolutionary thing the modern world has seen. The technical and societal benefits of inexpensive and clean energy will probably pale in comparison to the upheaval in the world order and balance of power. It ain't gonna be pretty, but hopefully we'll survive it and all be better off.

As per the scientific and bio-technology innovations happening today, it will surely be easier to make a human as semi-intelligent robot, then make an intelligent robot. I am afraid, this may revolutionize, rather create revolution in the near future. Let us pray god that it does not happen.

My first thought was VR and holograms too, but on reflection I think nanotechnology replicators that make things like foods, organ transplants and complicated machines from raw materials.
