they have a metal thing in the shape of a square which sits on the grill and they pour the egg into it.

The mix arrives at McDs from a company called Brauer (where all McD menu is from). It is probably composed of eggs and some food coloring much like the eggs that you can buy in a milk carton. How do they make it square? In the kitchen they have a mold that is square (also used in folded eggs) and round (those that are in the McMuffins). They pour the egg mix or in the case of the McMuffins...they just break an actual egg. The machine they use to cook it in is called a "clam". For the breakfast, the clam doesnt shut, but for burgers (since they use the same machine) the clam closes and opens when your burger is ready.

the eggs are pasterized and it is a liquid that is poured into a rectangle form that is on the grill.... once cooked it is folded over to make the square... I believe there may be food coloring in the egg liquid but I know that those eggs are really safe to eat because they take out the stuff that could make us sick!

There is also rectangle metal shape that once the egg is cooked, they fold the egg in half and then put it on the biscuit.

I'd say my using primarily only eggs yolks and a cookie-cutter style egg shaper.

Mcy D's will kill you overtime, don't let the spiffy yellowness of the egg suck you in too far. I'm only stating the truth because I care.

i was a manager there so i know, we used to cook the egg using an egg mold, you place raw egg inside the mold and while moving it around, cook the egg on the grill

Well I don't know how they make it "so yellow", I have some theories on that, but we won't get into that.... But you can buy grilling molds, that can be used for pancakes, eggs, ect. I have seen them in heart, circle, bear, ect.
