Creationism takes the position of God being the Creator (which He is) and has scientific studies that support this. Creationism supports that the Bible is correct, such as the creating by God you can read in Genesis 1 & 2, and the scientific studies about our physical world prove this, as best as it can. Obviously, there is faith involved to believe in God and His Word, but what can be shown scientifically, is, and evolution tries to disprove the Bible.
There are many verses in the Bible that talk about astronomy (such as Orion and Pleiades, the stars, sun) and geography (land, places, the great flood) and many other things.

I couldn't because it isn't. Besides, Evolution is a "theory" in the scientific sense of the word, which doesn't mean the same as in laymen's language. I mean a theory in science is not an unproven idea. It's a hypothesis built up on well established and undiscussed facts. On the other hand, creationism is hardly supported by ANY scientist at all.

THE CREATOR OF CREATIVITY AND THE PROCESS OF CREATION.
The One, who created the attributes of creativity and the process of creation before Beginning is rightfully, deserves to be called as God of all creatures.
The One, who ordained the steps and stages of the Process of Creation, including the organic order & composition of the creatures and___ made the energy as an energy and formed the matter with energy and___ demonstrated the Will in such a way that the Will has become a universe of rules and regulations___ doubtlessly___ has every right to be called and accepted as the Real and the Absolute Living GOD.
To know that who is the creator of God___ a simple way it this___ that we should try to know at first, that who is the creator of creativity?
Whosoever has created and ordained creativity, is the Real Creator. And now, when God, has already told that there is no creator except God and God alone, is the Creator of everything and Ordainer of every order. Then, we have no alternative but to accept and believe God as the Absolute Creator in terms of the preachings of Prophets.
Who is the creator of God? Perfect answer to this question, is given in the following compound sentence, in the form of another question___ a magnificent question:
If God is the Creator of creativity and the process of creation, the both, then how can be there any possibility of God’s creator?
And____ the same sentence is the most convincing, and the most rational argument, of the God-hood of God. The sentence penetrates in our minds and hearts, and we become positively convinced, that God is really existing as the One Alone God, and the One Alone Creator.
The real belief in the One Alone Lord is like that:-
•God must be believed as the One Alone Lord. By and by, firm refusal of the people-made unreal gods, is essential.
•No person or thing should be treated as a “likeness” or a “similitude” of God, the One Alone Lord.
•We should submit ourselves unconditionally to every Commandment of God, and the life should be managed, exactly, in accordance with God’s Will and God’s Commandments to avail God’s blessings.
•The Day of Judgement should be believed, which is ordained by God for the judgement of human deeds and which is, certainly, not too far to approach.
•To ensure the acceptance of God, we must adopt those ways, which have been prescribed by God and God’s Prophets. And___ this temporary life should be lead as a temporary life.

I dont think that necesarily there is a contradiction between creation and evolution. I think creation is a nice illustrated story told thousands of years ago for people of that time who needed to hear stories, they were not scientist and their minds very very simple compared to our minds now, so they needed a nice story to understand how God created us. Nowadays it does not make sense, it seems like a fairy tale or something out of this world and that is where the contradiction comes. I dont think that the story in the bible about creation happened necesarily the way it is told but the idea is that things evolved, life started in water and went through an evolutionary process as science has confirmed. Evolution does not contradict the fact that there is a greater mind who put in place laws (including the evolution) that governs this world we live in. So God is the creator but things evolved according to His laws.

Why not? Makes more sense then the other theories.
Creationism: A God created a man and a woman.
Evolution: Some one cell animals came into being somehow.
Over a couple of millions years they became fish.
Fish decided to walk onto land. So grew legs.
Fish turned into monkeys.
Monkeys turned into men.
Men wanted to stand upright, so they did.
Men decided that they are smarter then God.
But still men can not explain why this happened.
Or better question, "why would this happen?"

They are all only theories. No one will ever know the truth, and if they ever could, what good would it do? Think of all the time and money wasted on this nonsense and of what good use that could have been put to. Ask yourself - does it make any sense to disbelieve God?

Creationism is absurd. Too bad some people are just too hard-headed to understand it.

John 1:1 & 3 In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. God created everything through Him, and nothing was created except through Him.
