Well how old are you? how old is your mother? and are you still living with her? She most likely is scared if she has been out of school for so long, its hard to get back into "the game" when you've been out for so long!! Just help boost her confidence, do some research for her, check out schools, adult education courses, etc... Hope i helped

Good girl. Have you told her this? It might help and open the door. It is scary to go back to school when you stay out for so long. Try calling the Dept of continuing education in your area and talk to someone there. They can mail her information and ask them if they mak house visits to encourage someone who needs it. If not, get the packet sent and then tell your mom why you did it and why you want her to try to better herself so she can be better, have more, achieve more and tell her about your guilt, she won't want you to feel that way. Just don't give up. If there are others in your family get them together to encourage her and commit to helping her in any way they can. She may need a ride, help with doing some of the work or company to go to the library to research. Maybe even a friend or family member to join in with her to do it for themselves too. Don't give up and maybe showing her this posting might open the conversation for you and her.
I went back in my 30's and went to college a few years later. I was physically ill the first morning but it's the best thing I ever did for myself. I had 2 kids at the time and no car. It wasn't easy but I became very proud of myself when I made A's and B's. So, get her to do it any way you can.

Remind her there are online courses available.

Have the college mail her the HS/GED information.

Tell her when she's done you'll take some college courses with her, even if she does decide to do it online. You could be the encouragement she needs.

My mom was forty years old when she graduated college and we all could not have been prouder. It was so cool to see her graduate. Tell her you'd be so proud to go to her graduation. Remember that your mom probably is tired. Help her out with the chores and maybe she'll begin to see that she can find the time to do this.

Don't forget to keep doing what you need to do, either. College is always a good thing no matter what age.

It's natural for mothers to put others first Don't blame yourself for your mum becoming pregnant I to had a baby early and my daughter is very successful which in turns makes me very happy I believe that your mum needs to build up her own confidence and only then will she do what she really wants to do as for doing something nice for her spend a whole day pampering her run a bath give her hands and feet a massage clean her oven cook a nice meal and don't let her do any house chores all day

it depends on how old u r. if ur over 18, try getting a job so ur mom dosnt have to support the family on her own. but do ur mom a favor and stay in school. ur mom prbably dosnt want u to make the same mistakes as she did. and dont blame urself for the reason ur mom dropped out. their wasnt anything u possibly could have done. talk to your mom and tell her how u feel.
