The lamb of sacrifice was splayed open to inspect for imperfection. Then mounted on a wooden stake for the sacrificial fire.
Jesus was tortured...
(Isaiah 52:14 prophesies that He was so badly beaten as to be unrecognizable as a human being.)
And Pilate washed his hands of responsibility, saying, "I find no fault in this man."
Then Jesus was mounted on a wooden cross and sacrificed.

What's important is that Jesus was born in a house for raising sacrificial lambs, because he was the lamb of God.

All sacrifices had to be made in the Temple and each animal was to be free of blemishes.
