kimC, idol worship ?? which? worship of GOD,or worship of god through a statue of Mary? or worship of GOD through a statue of shiva? I understood worship of a statue is idolitry? there is a huge difference.

If you are a Christian it is the same thing. If you are polytheistic then that's different. I'm a Catholic, I worship only God, but am very accepting of diversity, especially of religions.

an unfortunately common misconception - maybe somehow you'll be able to understand, maybe if enough Catholics explain -- we do not worship Mary or statues - worship inn it's highest Divine and pure form is for God alone. Mary was God's second gift to His children - a loving mother who's arms enveloped our Ssaviour during His mostlovingand trying times -- she helped Him to become our human Saviour.

Oh come off of it. Catholics do not worship statues of Mary. You should be so lucky to love Mary like her Children do.
