I run a dry cleaners, dont use febreeze, it only masks the smell.
Best thing to do is to take the mattress outside and let it air out for as long as you can. If all else fails, as wierd as it sounds go to a pet supply store and buy some the urine neutralizer they have there. Spray it on, then let the mattress air out outside.

I use to wet the bed when I was a child and my mama always put vinegar in a squirt bottle and sprayed it over the spot. It smelled like vinegar for a while but that was better than the urine smell and although it was a strong smell it eventually went away and the urine smell went along with it. Something in the vinegar breaks down the enzymes in the urine. But, in todays world they have Urine Gone. It's wonderful!!! I know because I have a cat :) and a daughter who wets on occasion. It's about $20.00 a bottle depending where you buy it and it works like magic! I use it and it takes the urine smell out and replaces it with a pleasant smell. Before I discovered this I tried things like Febreze and other fresheners and the spots smelled better for a little while but the urine smell always came back. I have also invested in mattress covers so my daughter doesn't ruin her mattress. One of the best investments I've made. :) Urine Gone is definitely the way to go. It works the best out of everything that I've tried. www.urinegone.com Good luck and God bless!

Fabric fresheners like fabreze. I have a bed wetter she is 7, mainly due to her kidney problems (medical). I suggest until your son is completely potty trained (through the night) you place a plastic bed cover over his mattress. They sell them for around 10.00 twin size, and put a matress pad over that. Offer him pull-ups if you want less laundry. Stop drinks about an hour before bedtime, with the exception of the time for brushing his teeth. About 2oz. When he stays dry though the night for a period of time.... then I would stop using the pull-ups.
Good Luck

Use a Cat Spray & Urine Stain & Odor Remover. It works really well. But in the future use those wet pads that are for cribs. Put one where she normally lies under the sheets. And then put as many of those one the bed as possible.
I use in my crib I put wet pad, sheet, wet pad, sheet, wet pad sheet. That way unless they pee the bed three times in one night I can just strip off the old wet one and have a fresh set of sheets ready. Then I can put new ones on in the morning.
And you don't have to worry about waking up the child more than you have to just to have dry sheets.

use something with ENZYMES in it that will get the urine smell out- we live in a very warm climate- I have taken the mattress out side and hosed it off good- then let it dry in the sun- worked great for me- then put a plastic mattress cover on it- D

i'd try febreez if that doesn't work try the pet urine odor remover...I've also used warm soap and water and scrubed the area and put baking soda on it after to absorb the remaining odor and moisture... but put trash bags on the mattress for the first few months my 2 year has had 5 accidents in the last 3 months , she gets to cold and or falls asleep before she gets to empty her bladder, accidents will happen,

I would try undiluted white vinegar. Dab at the spots that smell. Open the window and let air dry, or better yet, take the mattress out in the sun if you can.

You can try febreeze. I use mattress covers, so when things like this happen it can be easily wiped down with Lysol, and doesn't soak into the mattress.
You can also try spaying (saturating it) with either the febreeze or Lysol spray and let it air dry outside. Good luck.

i have sum suggestions but they might be wierd. they wk though my sister quit wettin the bed! no drinks after 7-9, its up to ur schedule w bd time, potty b4 bed, sleep in plastic underware, and on a matress protection sheet. if it cont or it turns out to be laziness, which it can be, beleve me, the make sit on the pot fot like 1/2 an hr, sleep on newspaper, or make/remind them to go to the barm every 1/2 hr. if it doesnt get better by itself, then see a doc, it could be medical. good luck!

I know that Tomato juice is used to get out the smell of
skunk, so I'm sure urine is comparatively light-weight.
