Facing your specific fear to combat a phobia is a very good technique. I've dealt with my own phobias in the past and it has been recommended by both therapists and psychiatrists that I need to face all my fears.

Yes, because when you get old and wrinkly and forgetful you don't want to sit and ponder the thought of why didn't I do that when i was younger! You know there are people that do that!

Yes!! I got over my fear of heights by going to the one observation deck on the Empire State Building! I tell ya, that was some scary crap!!!!

I think it is a very good way, you need to learn to control how you feel about it. You want to be able to overcome it and it will help make you feel better.

It worked for me too. i was afraid of thunderstorms for a long time, but decided I would sit out on the porch during one... and I actually began to enjoy them again.
