As my predecessor said, "To increase speed the driving gear should have more teeth, and the driven gear should have [fewer] teeth." But note that the torque load on the motor turning the driving gear will be greater; as a minimum, it will draw more current; as a maximum, it will be overloaded or burn out.

Increase size of drive sprocket. I would not be decreasing the driven sprocket for the reasons left field stated also it would make no difference to the conveyor speed. (the bike thing does not apply as the conveyor is the 'chain' not the road!) You should probably consider your turning moment on the motor.

What about a Variable Speed Drive (VSD)? then you can control the speed with a knob. it also gives an excuse to get someone else in to do this and they can assess load etc.

One other bit of advice, given a choice, it would be better to increase the number of teeth on the driving sprocket. If a sprocket has too few teeth, you get into problems with capacity and chording.

N1*T1=N2*T2,WHERE
N1=RPM OF DRIVE,SAY MOTOR
T1=NO. OF TEETH ON DRIVE SPROCKET
N2=RPM OF DRIVEN SPROCKET,SAY CONVEYOR
T2=NO. OF TEETH ON DRIVEN SPROCKET

NOW,FOR 1440 RPM MOTOR,HAVING 20 TEETH SPROCKET AND CONVEYOR SPROCKET HAVE 40 TETH.
NOW,N1*T1=N2*T2
1440*20=N2*40
N2=1440*20/40
N2=720.
SO, FROM ABOVE IF U WANT TO INCREASE THE SPEED OF CONVEYOR,
YOU HAVE TO DECREASE THE TEETH OF DRIVEN SPROCKET OR INCREASE THE TEETH OF DRIVE SPROCKET.
