Every film star is into pretending (acting)…and see the class, status we the public have given them. That’s one way of looking at it. For us the lesser mortals I would suggest that the only time we should be our own true selves is when we are with our immediate family. At all other times a certain amount of pretence is definitely required especially in today’s day and time just to survive leave alone getting class or status. In a world where 99% of the people are pretending, you dare not stand out like a sore thumb by being your simple, sincere, honest, God fearing self. So unfortunately pretending does give you status, a false sense of status no doubt . However, when everyone else is in the same boat it doesn’t really matter.

Honesty and sincerity are the two most valued assets that a person can possess. A fake has neither and is easily spotted. No one likes a fake. No one trusts a fake. Pretending to be someone that you are not does not give you class. It will give you status, however, of someone to avoid.

Pretending will certainly give you class or whatever that you are pretending to be! Afterall it is like putting on a role for a short time.
But, immediately after the role play you will feel miserable with a tremendous feeling of guilt. Further , you should remember the role you played so that next time you play the same role to the same person.
It is not worth the trouble, I found out. It will be a big relief if you can be yourself, without putting on any mask.

Pretending can only give you status. Status is temporary. Pretending can never give you class. Class is what you are born with. It is permanent.

It may, for the moment. But soon,
it gets exposed and the pretender
is viewed upon with suspicion.
He becomes a liability for the
known/unknown and people
start avoiding him soon and
even not wish him, if found
coming on your way..
Pretenders look like foolish
and they are soon out casted
from the company of knowledgable.

Pretnding what? Ans to what extent?
Pretending does nothing but make one a liar, and liars always get caught in the end.

No. Never. He who has class can recognize the others; he who hasn't...doesn't.
